Seems like ages since I found time to post and looking at my blog it has.

I have pretty much been on the go since the end of last week or getting home late and tired!

Last weekend Margaret and I went off to Finland for their Baronial investiture and can I say a lovelier bunch of people are hard to find. They made us so welcome and boy can they party. The food was also really really yummy and loads of it.

Work this week was a series of challenges. Firstly my new project which I am acting as technical lead and am being a sort of manager. Its a interesting one because I really don't want to be a manager but its the only way I progress in my career really. It has not been as bad as I thought but it is a challenger.

It would help of course if I didn't have my last project still hanging round but I managed to get some very interesting information conveyed to the client in a long meeting that I thought went well. Then we had a night out for the new project and then finally on Friday I had a meeting with another client. All good stuff but really just work.

Last night was the fun bit of the week. I started with an excellent riding lesson. I had a horse I have ridden before, Guinea, and he gave me troubles. This time I didn't let him get the best of me. I made him walk fast, then to trot and canter freely, yes I had to use the stick a little bit but he was much the better for it. When we jumped after a little bit of trying it on he relaxed and actually got the hang of it. I ended up jumping the highest jump I am yet to jump which was exciting and he did it well towards the end. Quite a buzz.

Then when I got home I put on some slow roasting pork and went up to the studio to work no a song. I have recorded a lot of the tracks and have some ideas on the production but I am not sure if I don't need to start again with different drums we will see.

The pork was lovely. A strip of belly pork roasted for 3 hours at 150C and then 20 minutes at 180. So tender and I served it with a sauce made from a little of the run off fat, some red wine, a splash of vinegar, some spices and some butter. Rather tasty.

This weekend will be a quiet one with chores getting done, some music being worked on and hopefully some work on my report for my C.Eng.
